Nell is a working nurse manager for Children's R and R, where she supervises staff and provides care for sick children of Mayo employees. Nell provides developmentally appropriate, compassionate care to each child that she encounters. She has a presence and smile that draws kids to her. On numerous occasions, Nell has jumped in to help provide care, comfort, a hug, or a popsicle to little ones. She has a gift for crafts and has spent countless hours this year doing craft projects with the children. She brings innovation and creativity to create "duct tape wallets," crowns, pen flowers, and artwork with paint with her guests at R and R. As a colleague, I would also like to recognize Nell for her commitment to caring for her colleagues and, above and beyond efforts to bring joy to our division. Things that Nell does include random kindness text pages, monthly intraclinic treats, sharing positive stories, cards of recognition and empowerment, and frequent check-ins. This past year, Nell submitted for joy funds for our division to purchase items to help us all bring joy to our team. When you meet Nell, her smile, laugh, and genuine personality will leave you feeling a little happier. Nell is purposeful to bring joy and spread kindness to everyone she meets.
