D was born at 25 weeks and six days gestation. She weighed 1 pound 1 ounce and was 11.25 inches long. She was a longtime resident at Saint Mary's NICU. She stayed for 121 days before getting transferred to another organization for a feeding tube surgery. While D was a patient, the family got to know the nurses very well and shared they were all amazing in their own ways.

The nursing staff, each with their unique approach, played pivotal roles in D's care. The family shared that many nurses stood out to them with unwavering support, encouragement, and their wealth of knowledge, making the challenging process of being in the NICU more manageable for the family. The nurses, characterized by infectious positivity and dedication, created an uplifting atmosphere and demonstrated exceptional skills during a critical moment that ensured D's survival. The nursing team's ability to convey detailed information and provide comfort and reassurance during challenging times made a significant impact on the family's NICU experience. The family is immensely grateful for the outstanding contributions of the entire nursing team, as their genuine care and commitment have left a lasting mark on their hearts.
