I am honored to write this DAISY nomination for my mother’s nurse, Netra, who cared for her during her hospital stay.

As a nurse with 36 years of experience, you naturally pay close attention to the care your loved one receives. From the moment we met Netra, he introduced himself, reviewed the plan for the day, asked my mother thoughtful questions about her progress, and shared results from the labs that had been sent earlier.

Throughout these conversations, Netra demonstrated genuine compassion, ensuring we clearly understood the plan of care, confirming my mother’s comfort, and making sure she did not need anything before he continued to his next patient. Netra took time to truly connect with my mother, creating a trusting, compassionate environment that made us both feel safe and cared for.

We had conversations with him and laughed together, which was exactly what my mother needed. Netra never hesitated to respond when the call light was pressed, and he consistently completed an hourly check on her PIC. He also advocated for my mother while she was under his care. We were fortunate to have Netra care for my mother the entire weekend, as Netra knew her case well and could escalate concerns as needed.

The overall consistency of care from all the nurses throughout her stay was exceptional, but even with this, Netra truly stood out as a top-notch nurse. Netra is a wonderful resource to his team.
