Many times, people who are in service professions forget the ideals which took them into this career path in the first place. Our family has experienced numerous health care professionals due to childhood cancer but have never been in a facility that could match up to this one. The empathy, care, compassion, professionalism, and knowledge that was demonstrated by the staff in the Neurosurgery ICU was exemplary. Every single nurse and nursing assistant went above and beyond the call of duty with our daughter. Since I stayed at the hospital for much of my daughter's ten-day stay, I witnessed firsthand the kindness, patience, and love demonstrated by all. I was especially impressed by how engaged the staff was and with the interaction with patients, family members, and other staff.
