On March 8, Newport Hospital successfully launched a tele-ICU model of care, partnering with Hicuity Health. This accomplished one of Newport Hospital’s strategic priorities for the year. Access to intensivists is essential to successfully running an intensive care unit and caring for our most critically ill patients. That’s why we have partnered with Hicuity Health, the largest, most experienced acute care telemedicine provider in the nation. Through Hicuity’s technology, our ICU team will now have expanded access to additional intensivists around the world, any time of day. With the press of a button, our ICU team can easily start a video call with an intensivist to consult with the patient and their families. This new program complements and supports our existing ICU team. A multidisciplinary team from across Lifespan and Hicuity worked tirelessly to bring this program to fruition.

This team, Co-led by executive sponsors, Orla Brandos, DNP, MBA, MSN, CPHQ, NEA-BC, FACHE, VPPCS/CNO, and Jeffrey Gaines, MD, MHCM, FACEP
