March 2012 Honoree
nguyenhuong winnie conghuyentonnu, RN, BSN
Winnie takes very good care of me. She calls between visits and if I am not feeling well will come by to check on me. She is a detective, she knows when I am not following my medical plan, and will explain why I need to use my walker or take my medications properly. She made up a medication chart for me. I had so many medications, and I didn’t know when to take the pills or what they were for. Winnie explained everything to me. And each time she comes, she goes over my medicines and asks me how I am using them. She is concerned for my health and explains to me what I should be doing to recover from my hip and wrist fracture. She explains what my diet should be and what things I should report to my doctor right away.
One time she called and I told her I was fine, but she knew that I wasn’t and came right away that day to help me. I felt so much better after she came because she explained that I was not taking my medicines properly. I was also not eating and resting enough. Winnie just knows by talking and watching me what I need to do to get better. I thank God everyday for sending such a wonderful nurse to me!
