NiChae even spoon-fed me chocolate pudding as I couldn't hold the cup.
I fell in my garage and obtained a long spiral fracture of my right humerus bone. I also tore the right rotator cuff. After surgery to place a rod, I developed a radial nerve palsy. The pain was excruciating post-surgery because they couldn't give me a nerve block. I was admitted to the hospital to manage my pain. That's when I met NiChae.
She was my nurse for the 7 pm-7 am shift. Although I had a good amount of pain drugs I still remember her frequent visits to my room. She always had a smile on her face and made me feel as if I was her only patient. She even spoon-fed me chocolate pudding as I couldn't hold the cup. She explained the various drugs she was giving me and checked with me frequently to make sure I wasn't in pain. She listened to me patiently as I told her my fears of not recovering from the palsy. I asked about being a nurse and she explained her background and determination to finish school and become a nurse. I could tell by her facial expression that she loves what she does. NiChae went above and beyond to help me through a very difficult night.
