We came into the unit as my wife was having contractions, our baby was born in the wee hours of the morning. Nick was our scrub/postpartum nurse. As we were just getting to the postpartum unit, I learned he was previously in the service like me and we connected, also telling Nick that I was nervous as this was my first child. Nick told me that he would be there for any questions throughout the night. Anything I could ask Nick was there and he helped me learn how to change my first diaper, brought us snacks to eat, the works for me and my family. Definitely a blessing our first night.
