His day-to-day delivery focuses on quality safe care, his strong ability to connect and lead teams and lest not forget his sense of humor that keeps us all laughing.
Nicholas truly exemplifies Holland Bloorview’s vision of the most meaningful and healthy future for all children, youth, and families. Nicholas embraces and delivers strengths-based, solution-focused philosophies ensuring exceptional client and family-centered care using an EDI lens. He is a true nurse leader and an outstanding role model for all future leaders. His day-to-day delivery focuses on quality safe care, his strong ability to connect and lead teams and lest not forget his sense of humor that keeps us all laughing. Nicholas creates team forming particularly in discussions regarding the infamous hockey rivalry of the Montreal Canadians vs Toronto Maple Leafs. The pandemic has certainly influenced us in many ways and has been challenging for many of us. Recognizing over the Holiday period, staffing, and surge of cases, Nicholas volunteered to be trained on how to test and support the COVID test center in specimen collection of community children with medical complexities and their families as well as the HB staff and household members. His caring and compassion carry not only within the BIRT program, but also transitions to our communities, staff, and families. In addition to performing his Ops Manager accountabilities at an exemplary level, Nicholas demonstrates an extraordinary commitment to his professional career growth. He is endlessly participating in new academic challenges and continues to share his learnings with Holland Bloorview. Nicholas takes it upon himself to provide exceptional support to new staff and the BIRT team, clients, and families. He discerns quickly their individual needs and moves efficiently to provide key information, recommendations, or direction.

From two nurses, “Nicholas is the most supportive manager we've had the pleasure of working with! He has been so unconditionally kind and caring throughout our journey at Holland Bloorview. He goes above and beyond not only for our families on the unit but for his staff as well. Thank you for everything you do, your efforts don't go unnoticed, and your kindness goes a long way.”

Through many challenges endured this past year, Nicholas has made a difference and positively impacted the clients, families, staff, colleagues, and the community that we serve.
