We have been here for a few months. We have had many bad days where the patient has been very difficult. Out of all the nurses, Nick by far was able to understand and deal with my dad in a very special way. There was a time when Nick was so busy, and my Dad just kept talking and talking and Nick never acted like he was too busy to listen or didn't have time for him.
My Dad is 79-years-old and set in his ways. Nick has been able to connect with him as a person and that made my Dad feel like he was a real person, not a patient! He always looked forward to Nick being his nurse and even if Nick was not his nurse, he always popped his head in and said hi!
This is from Dad - "That Nick is great. I sure wish I could have him every day. He has a heart and cares about me!"
As the family, Nick has been amazing and kept us up to date even took the time to call if Dad did something great (or something bad) to let us know what was going on. Years from now Dad may not remember Nick's name, but I guarantee you he will always remember how Nick made him feel!
