Nick admitted our son in the CTICU. Tests were done and it was determined our son needed an emergency cath procedure. He was in heart failure and coded a day after the procedure and put on ECMO machine. When Nick returned from his day off, he learned what had happened and was crushed. Nick showed an enormous amount of compassion and professionalism in his care for our son. After many days of being assigned to our son, he asked if it would be ok if he could be his primary nurse. That showed us that he was all in and committed to our son's well-being. Nick was so informative in our son's daily goals and progress. We are more knowledgeable from Nick and know now what means what, what numbers need to trend which direction, etc. Every time Nick came back from days off, he would tell us how he would think about our son on his days off and when in bed. Nick took care of our son as if he was his own family member, not a patient. Nick is a true DAISY Nurse!
