Our team is honored to nominate Nicholas LaMar, MSN, RN, for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award in recognition of his exceptional leadership at Kaiser South Sacramento. Nick’s passion for nursing leadership and his unwavering support for the teams he serves have made a profound difference in our organization.
From the moment Nick stepped into leadership, he began shaping a positive and collaborative culture.
His greatest impact emerged in his role as Support Services Manager, where his vision and dedication drove meaningful improvements. He strengthened operational support by expanding and optimizing the float pool nursing team to meet critical staffing needs across Med-Surg and Telemetry, including during the opening of the 5th floor. He partnered with PICC and Wound Care teams to implement case reviews and team assessments, resulting in year-over-year reductions in CLABSI and HAPI events.
Nick also led coordination among leadership, regional, and labor teams to launch the Virtual Sitter Observer Program in the Sacramento Valley, significantly enhancing patient safety. In addition to these achievements, he currently serves as Interim Manager for 2 South and 5 South while continuing his responsibilities as Support Services Manager, exemplifying adaptability and commitment.
