It is impossible to summarize in a few words what kind of nurse Nick Viggiano is. I was admitted to the hospital and was brought to the 6th floor. The next morning, I met Nick. From the moment he walked into the room it was easy to see he is a very warm-hearted, caring individual. He is very easy going and has an incredible bedside manner. He took the time to listen to my situation and what brought me there. He was very sympathetic.
Nick is always right on-time with my medications. When I was first prescribed new medication he made sure he explained them to me and why the doctor ordered them then made sure to answer any questions I have. I have had a few episodes where my pain is unbearable. Nick stayed by my side helping me get through it. He has been very proactive. He brought in a heating pad for me to try to help the pain.
Not only does Nick take care of medications and treatments, he checks my water to see if I need any and always asks if I am okay and need anything else before he leaves. In just 2 days he has gotten to know the simple things about me. He brings me coffee every morning just the way I like it before I even ask for it. I do not eat many meals or much at all for that matter. He makes sure I always have snacks available in my room, knowing I will eventually eat them. He is calm and patient no matter what the situation. He takes time to get to know his patients and their visitors. He has had a few conversations with my fiancé. You would think they have been friends for years. He is extremely personable.

Nick goes above and beyond every day for patients. He has a great sense of humor, very personable and down to earth. He genuinely cares and has compassion and a pleasant bedside manner. He is beyond deserving of this award due to being a phenomenal nurse and an extraordinary person all around genuine and kind-hearted.
