My father has been in and out and back in the hospital. This hospitalization has taken a lot out of him physically, but even more so emotionally and mentally. These two nurses took it upon themselves to take their caregiving to the next level. They orchestrated a plan with my sister to bring my father's cat to the hospital. When I heard from them yesterday that this plan was being put into place, my heart was filled with such joy. I live in NYC and had to come back home on Monday after having been there for a little over a week. I was so sad to leave, thinking about how sad my dad was, and all he has been through. He got to see his cat, she is his little baby, a constant in his life that makes him so happy and he finally got to see her after a month. I hope they can be recognized for their work, looking out not only into the physical well being of their patients but their emotional well-being too. They came in on their day off to do this!!! Thank you so much for being their role model and allowing them to be their best selves.
