Nicki is very kind and patient with her patients. Specifically, a patient was brought to tears telling me about something kind that Nicki did for her. She said that Nicki washed and cleaned her hands and gave her a manicure/cleaned her nails. It was something very small but to a 72-year-old woman who was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer, unable to see any family including her husband of 62 years during the COVID epidemic, it was a very special and memorable experience for her.
I discharged the patient days later to Hospice and she asked me to thank Nicki for all she had done, and she wished there was a way to repay her. So, on behalf of the patient and because she is a truly exceptional and kind nurse who has gone above and beyond on several occasions for her fellow coworkers and patients, I feel she is a true DAISY Nurse. Thank you.
