Nicki came across as someone who is truly caring. She listened, cared, and really supported my birth choices.
Nicki looked after me during my labour on the birthing unit, and worked shifts on the maternity ward so got to be taken care of by her after my daughter was born. Nicki came across as someone who is truly caring. She listened, cared, and really supported my birth choices. She knew I wanted a VBAC and really worked with me to achieve this. My labour was so hard – I cried through most of it, panicked, and really struggled to handle the intense pain but Nicki really tried hard to help me stick at it – I begged for a C-section at one point and it would have been easy for her to set the wheels in motion – but she knew I really wanted to achieve a VBAC and so supported me to keep at it. At 1.05 am I achieved my VBAC – it was the most amazing experience and I will be eternally grateful to Nicki for helping me get there. During my stay on maternity Nicki has been to see me, ensure I’m OK, and helped me feel settled during an extended stay. She has an incredibly calming manner and a very caring disposition. I witnessed how she supported the lady in the next bed to me and personally made me feel lucky that I had given birth with Nicki on shift. She is an absolute asset to KMH. Thank you from the very bottom of my heart.
