I felt that I learned a great deal from Professor Belcher not only from the material she taught but the way she taught it.
Professor Belcher is an excellent instructor, both in theory and clinical settings. She is a great educator because holds her students to a high standard and strives for everyone to succeed. However, what I believe makes her stand out is her incorporation of nursing practice into her teaching. Not only does she teach excellent nursing application, but she practices nursing in her teaching. She displays values like empathy, caring, and trust towards her students, making us feel that she has our best interest in mind and truly wants every one of us to succeed. She admits fault if something is wrong, she genuinely listens to students when they have concerns, and she advocates for her students. I felt that I learned a great deal from Professor Belcher not only from the material she taught but the way she taught it. She taught nursing not only through slideshows and lectures but by actually practicing the values of nursing through her interactions with all of us. Her nursing practice in teaching not only benefits the college by way of excellent instruction but also benefits the nursing community and patient population as a whole by teaching essential aspects of nursing that cannot be evaluated on an exam.
