Where do I begin…Nicole Bunz is human kindness, no matter the task at hand. She is compassionate and caring in patient interactions and in her current role spends much of her day supporting & encouraging staff in their patient care roles. She is the first person to the unit during times of crises offering guidance both during the situation and immediately following. She is an excellent teacher & Mentor and everyone feels great knowing that she’s in the “house.”
Nicole has taken department oversight of the PNAP program and has mentored several nurses as they embark upon their PNAP journey.
While other areas are fortunate to have their educator work on the downtime documents, Nicole has taken on all of this work for the entire service line (in addition to her daily tasks). She has created and recreated each document according to current EPIC documentation standards.
Through all of that, Nicole still finds time to round with staff and takes great pride in being an advocate for their needs while also letting them know how much they are appreciated. Nicole started the birthday tradition several years ago at our unit and it still runs strong today. Nicole is both my friend and colleague and I am blessed to have her alongside me on this leadership journey as we continue to bask in the success and brave the challenges that lie ahead.
When Nicole is not at work, she runs a nonprofit called “Rosie’s Rehabilitation & Sanctuary” which is an animal shelter.
