She went above and beyond making sure I was comfortable and occupied to keep my mind off things!
I came here initially to get a new VP shunt put in when I met Nicole. My first ever revision and I was terrified!! Nicole was totally awesome taking care of me. We had a ton of fun turning my EVD pole into a character named Carl. When I was discharged, we thought that was the end of it. God had other plans for me. I got an infection of the shunt and I was basically septic. My doctor caught it, thankfully, and had a plan. I had no idea what to expect from recovering from this. I knew I had my family but I felt so alone and scared because nobody really knew what I was about to go through. Nicole was a breath of fresh air and a familiar face that I was so relieved to see, even if circumstances weren't super ideal. She went above and beyond making sure I was comfortable and occupied to keep my mind off things! She has been a fantastic nurse and a great friend to me while I'm here. Every time I needed something she was there in less than 60 seconds. She was always relatable, funny, and so hospitable! When I ended up back here, it was reassuring to see her beautiful smile! I knew I was in good hands. She's taught some newer nurses how to work with my EVD and I always felt confident that I was safe. Thank you, Nicole!!!
