As a young girl with pancreatitis, I’ve had a hard time with most nurses and doctors understanding the care I need with my condition being rare for someone my age. However, last year and this year's flare-up, I had Nicole as a nurse. She made me feel more comfortable and trusting with my stay at the hospital, and after the trouble I had last year, I think she did a lot to make sure I didn’t have to deal with a similar experience. She made my stay very comfortable, kept my pain managed, and was very easy to talk to. I was terrified to have to stay in the hospital, but she communicated with me and other nurses and doctors very well and made my time there much easier on me. I appreciate the effort and care this nurse has; she deserves this award. When I called and told reception I was in pain, unlike any other experience of waiting and waiting because I wasn’t scheduled for anything, she always made an effort to come to my room as quickly as she could to see if there could be any solution to making my pain easier on me. I could not thank her enough.
