Nicole took care of a patient having a GI Bleed. The patient was hospice as an outpatient. The patient's physician believed the patient did not want anything done. The patient was confused. Nicole discussed the patient's situation with the family. The family wished for a colonoscopy to be performed. Nicole contacted the GI Physician on the patient's case. The physician was reluctant to proceed with any procedure, stating the patient was on hospice. Nicole explained that the family indeed wanted an intervention to stop the bleeding. She convinced the physician to call the patient's son. The physician called the son and the patient received the care she needed.
