Nicole Crowder, BSN, RN
Nicole was very attentive to my 90-year-old mother, who was admitted with COVID. She was professional when we were looking to move my father to share a room with my mother. After a long day of caring for my mom and other patients, including giving my mom an enema, she tactfully dealt with me, "the emotional" daughter, with my request to have my parents share a room. She was tactful and professional. Thank you, Nicole

Nicole has been a strong patient advocate for our family member. He is a complex patient who has had an extensive hospital stay. Nicole has shown him compassion and has treated him with great dignity. She has communicated exceptionally well with his health care proxies and has been able to verbalize our concerns to the medical team.
He has the personality of a person who does not easily comprehend medical lingo, and she has been able to simplify the terms to help him understand. She has also advocated for his comfort. He is unable to verbalize pain adequately using a pain scale - he denies pain, but objectively his pain is severe. He has finally been comfortable thanks to her advocacy.
As an oncology RN for 33 years, comfort, dignity, and adequate support for patient and family members have always been of the utmost importance. Nicole shines in compassion. I am so glad she is taking care of our family member during a hospital stay that has been stressful for him and his loved ones. St. Luke's Hospital is blessed to have such an amazing RN.
