Nicole DeGroot, RN
Nicole was an exceptional nurse during my husband's recovery from a total knee replacement. She was thorough, compassionate, and went above and beyond the standard of care. In my opinion, she is the epitome of the DAISY Award. Her presence at the bedside was extremely knowledgeable, reassuring, friendly, and attentive. She cared for my husband in a way that felt like she was caring for her own family, providing truly excellent care. Her kindness speaks volumes of how genuine of a person she is.
One thing that I will never forget is that she adjusted her schedule so she could be his nurse through his entire hospital stay and discharge. It was a blessing to have her there to provide such great continuity of care. I was nervous and overwhelmed by the amount of information about his recovery, but she was patient and knowledgeable. It helped instill confidence in our ability to go home and continue to recover. We are so grateful that we were above to have Nicole as his nurse; we know it made a huge impact on our experience, and she is an incredibly valuable member of the Valor Health team.
