All nurses by their nature are caring, compassionate, patient, informational, tend to your needs people.. that is who they are and why they chose their nursing profession, but Nicole exhibits an instantly noticeable difference as she enters a patient's room and commands the situation. First, is her exuding confidence. “I am here to help you in any way” You can sense that. Second, is her commanding presense of voice. “I have this situation under control”. Third, is her knowledge to inform you of your situation. “you are receiving X medications that will help you control x medical problem or X doctor will be visiting you shortly”. Fourth, is her eagerness to serve you as if you were the most important person in the hospital that day with her bedside care and concern for the comfort of the patient. “do you need another blanket, let me adjust your pillow”. Fifth is her concern for her patients throughout her entire shift even stopping in at the very end rather than thinking about what she was going to do on her next two days off. Even though she makes her voice heard confidently, she is never overbearing and always displays a caring demeanor throughout her twelve-hour shift. She is ready to serve you, her patient, from the beginning of the day until the end. Sixth, she is a mentor, I saw her interact with another RN as she explained the various monitors in the room, she appears good at that tool. Nicole commands a room with her confidence, preparation, and knowledge of the situation assuring her patients that they are under great care. I gained confidence in myself with her presence and her caring demeanor and was glad she used her time to serve my needs. It made me feel so special. I hope she is someday promoted but I would sorely miss her caring, compassionate, helpful, knowledgeable bedside manner. Not only is Nicole a standout, impressive young lady but is a standout spectacular nurse who embodies all quanities of her chosen profession. Nicole is a treasure.
