My colleague, Nicole Lucas, is always a pleasure to work with. The compassion she has for others radiates to all of her patients. One beautiful sunny day she was caring for a baby who had never been outside. She took action to gather the supplies and the approval to take this bundle of joy outside for the first time. It was not just what she did but how she did it. She dressed her patient up in a matching outfit and blanket she picked out special for the child. She found a shady spot for him under a tree. He was able to feel sunshine for the first time.
During this adventure, Nicole maintained complete professionalism and kept the patient's safety at a top priority. She meticulously monitored the patient's vital signs and noted his color and warmth. I am proud to be part of a team with so many wonderful nurses, such as Nicole.
