Nicole is truly a sweetheart, and her passion for caring and ensuring patients are well taken care of is something that genuinely stands out. My dad spent several weeks at Mercy, and while Nicole wasn’t his primary nurse, she made time during her busy shifts to check in on him regularly. Her presence alone brought comfort—not only to my dad but to our entire family. She went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable, showing a level of empathy and compassion that can’t be taught. It comes naturally to her. Being in the hospital is never easy—it’s a stressful experience for patients, their families, and even for the nurses and CNAs. But Nicole was like a breath of fresh air. Her calm, warm, and caring demeanor helped ease that stress and made a real difference in my dad’s stay. Her ability to bring peace and comfort in such a difficult time is something our family will never forget. Nicole truly embodies the spirit of nursing. She leads with heart, compassion, and selflessness. If anyone deserves the DAISY Award, it is without question Nicole Johnson.
