Nicole M Petrowski, BSN, RN

Nicole was a blessing during my two stays in the ICU ward. She angelically demonstrated an ability to care for me physically and addressed the tremendous mental stress and depression. I was isolated in ICU for 10 days of my stay and during that time I received a grave diagnosis: a diagnosis that devastated and depressed me and my wife. I credit Nicole for recognizing our spiritual needs and lifting us from a void of uncertainty and despair. Given my condition, I was depressed and physically and mentally exhausted, a condition that was spiraling and affecting my spouse.

Nicole became a team leader. She went beyond all expectations to coordinate and inform my wife of changes in my condition and instill optimism about my healing and a future life outside of the hospital. It is hard to describe the totality of Nicole’s actions and her positive impact on my family. Her attentiveness to my care, her ability to clearly disseminate changes to my wife and doctors, and her efforts to coordinate future procedures greatly assisted in comforting my wife and determining future strategies and medical treatments. It is beyond dispute, Nicole’s actions lifted me out of depression and despair. She provided much-needed comfort to my wife during this unpredictable, stressful time. Nicole's efforts contributed to my health, future outlook on life, and my family’s spiritual wellbeing.
