My elderly mother was scheduled to be discharged. However, late afternoon into the evening she developed a second problem of severe reflux- could swallow nothing, severe spitting up for five hours. Nicole worked so hard to help get this under control while we waited several hours for medicine to arrive. Nicole made numerous phone calls on our behalf and stayed later to help care for my mom.
Due to Nicole's diligence, mom got an IV to help her through the night. Nicole helped keep me and my brother calm and fully informed while we waited.
Please consider honoring Nicole for the DAISY award. She was extraordinarily helpful and compassionate during the care of our 90-year-old mother, during this visit as well as several separate hospital admissions.
