My brother was admitted to 3 North after experiencing tachycardia and having some other issues. When my brother, sister-in-law, and I arrived to your unit, we were greeted with a smile and kind words by Nicole Pennestri RN. I must tell you that you are a very lucky manager to have such a nurse working for your service. Ms. Pennestri greeted all of us and attended to my brother very promptly. She was nearing the end of her12-hour shift, yet she was all smiles, and had a very positive demeanor. She assessed my brother and then went over everything in his chart with him step by step. She involved my sister-in-law and answered any questions that my family had. She went over all the medications and tests that were already completed. She informed us of what was going to take place in the next 12 hours that eased my families mind. There was no stone unturned. She made everyone feel at ease. She directed the assistant who worked with her, who was also excellent. Ms. Pennestri took the meaning "treat all patients as if they were your loved one" to heart, as she treated us like family. She is a very caring, nurturing, compassionate, professional nurse.
