Nicole Pitosky, RN

Nicole was taking care of a 5-year-old nonverbal autistic patient who was abandoned by his family and left in the ED to be placed by Children and Youth. She went out of her way to comfort the patient by holding him and cuddling him, getting him things to do (borrowed Play-Doh from adolescent psych), and purchasing pull-ups because the diapers available in the ED were slightly too small for him. Nicole displayed exemplary characteristics of compassion and caring toward this patient today.
