I am honored to nominate an extraordinary RN for the DAISY award in recognition of her outstanding clinical skills, quick thinking, and compassionate care.

At shift change, she immediately noticed that one of her patients did not look well. Trusting her instincts,  she promptly placed the patient on the monitor and discovered he was in A-fib with RVR. In addition to this critical rhythm, the patient was also experiencing an altered mental status. Without hesitation, she notified the physician, advocated for immediate action, and ensured the patient was moved to a room closer to the front for higher visibility and rapid response. She immediately began appropriate interventions and coordinated a STATFLIGHT transfer. Her rapid assessment, decisive action, and strong clinical judgment very likely saved this patient's life.

What makes her care even more remarkable is that this level of excellence is not unusual for her - it is who she is every day. The night before, she provided exceptional care to a patient admitted with AMS. Through kindness, patience, and genuine warmth, she transformed his experience from frustration and a bad mood to laughter and even a giggle. Her ability to care for both the clinical and emotional needs of her patients is truly special.

She is always smiling, always helpful, and always willing to step in wherever needed. She elevates the entire team with her positivity and professionalism.

She exemplifies what it means to be a nurse. All nurses should emulate her clinical excellence, compassion, teamwork, and unwavering commitment to patient safety. She is more than deserving of this DAISY award.
