I have had the pleasure of managing Nicole over the last few months and witness daily her compassion for her patients and families. Our unit can be quite challenging yet Nicole is amazing with all she encounters. There is one patient/family that she demonstrated such empathy and grace with her gentle touch and kind demeanor. I cannot express it any better than the family. Truly she is an example of why we are all here:
My husband remained a patient there until he was moved to hospice. During the stay, Nicole spent 2 shifts with 4 full days. Nicole demonstrated exceptional care for my husband on each of these days. She showed compassion and gentleness in ways she cared for him She ensured he remained comfortable in his bed - even bothered to keep his covers and blankets arranged neatly (and not disheveled) so he would be warm and rest easy.
She was so considerate in feeding him during the early days when he was still somewhat alert. Importantly to our family, my husband responded well to Nicole's attention and kindness. She also seemed to us to go beyond the normal routine of meeting her medical responsibilities to make sure that we understood what was happening and we had what was needed.
I can tell you my entire family was happy to see Nicole was with him on her second round we knew he was in good hands and with someone caring. Thank you Nicole for treating my husband so well.
