Nicole did a tremendous job of being there for us. She was always looking for ways to make our stay more comfortable. She was able to relate to us and made our stay more comfortable.
Nicole portrays what you need in a nurse. She is able to communicate effectively with adults and understand the situation. She even volunteered for an extra shift and was assigned to us for an additional day, which made us feel so comfortable. Nicole made us feel like we were not at the hospital.
As a nurse, she was in constant communication with the doctor. She was looked upon by the pediatrician as someone who was an expert.

As first-time parents, we were overwhelmed, scared, and anxious when our 28-day-old son was diagnosed with a viral infection that required a 14-day hospital stay. After transferring from the NICU, we were incredibly fortunate to have Nicole as our nurse.
From the moment she stepped into the room, Nicole brought calm, compassion, and expertise that made all the difference in our son’s care and in easing our fears. Nicole was meticulous in managing our son’s PICC line and daily needs, like bathing and maintaining sanitary conditions, ensuring his safety at every step.
But her care went beyond her medical expertise. She treated our son with such gentleness and warmth, as if he were her own. Her ability to anticipate his needs and calm him with her soothing presence gave us peace of mind in a situation where we felt so helpless.
What truly set Nicole apart was her care for us as parents. She understood how stressful and emotional this experience was and went out of her way to make sure we were supported. Whether it was answering our endless questions with patience, explaining our son’s care plan, or simply offering words of reassurance, she made us feel seen and cared for during one of the hardest times of our lives.
Nicole’s extraordinary combination of skill, compassion, and dedication embodies everything the DAISY Award represents. She not only provided exceptional care for our son but also gave us the strength and comfort we needed to get through this journey.
