I was particularly impressed with Nicole Snyder, a young nurse that convinced me that she is and will continue to be an outstanding nurse.
My doctor recently announced his upcoming retirement. As I am advancing in age I felt it was a good opportunity to look around to check my options for future healthcare. The first decision was to find a hospital and doctor that I was comfortable with. I don’t like jumping around a lot. I visited Manchester as a patient and immediately felt that I was the primary reason why we all got together. My health up to this time was average but with the first of the year every disease there was deciding to give me a try. During 2023 between doctor visits, emergency room visits, referrals and hospital stays I at this point have had 78 different visits, yes I said 78 visits. January was the start of the year where my health was to leave me and whether I survived or not became the question of the day.
Twice during this time period I was put into the hospital and as I was resting in the bed I had the opportunity to observe doctors, nurses, food workers, janitors, aides and anyone else that happened to be going past my door. My subject here comes to that of one particular nurse, Nicole Snyder. As I was visiting for the first time and laying in the bed feeling sorry for myself, in bounces this girl who said hi, I’m your nurse. Here I am a 76 year old man and this young girl is going to save me. Between this visit and my next stay I was fortunate to have Nicole again. Over a four day period I watched this nurse, first ask about my ailments, check my vitals, give me a band-aid and ted hose. When there was time she would chit chat with me. Then she was gone, as other people wanted her too. Her patients are first!
To the Regional Medical center I say to you that every member of your staff I encountered excelled beyond what a person has a right to expect. I was particularly impressed with Nicole Snyder, a young nurse that convinced me that she is and will continue to be an outstanding nurse. I hope as the future of your organization continues to grow, remember the staff and Nicole are that future. I do not plan to visit again as a patient unless Nicole Snyder is my nurse.
