December 2022 Honoree
Nicole Stanley, Registered Nurse
Nicole recently cared for a patient who had been admitted to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care on ECHMO. When the patent was extubated, her health began to decline, to the point that she was re-intubated, until Nicole stepped in. Familiar with the patient’s medical history, she was able to work with the doctors and figure out what was causing the patient to decline and resolve the problems head-on. Thanks to Nicole’s quick thinking and action, the patient was stabilized and remained extubated, and continued on the road to recovery. “[My Husband] commended her ability to take the initiative with my care to my advantage. Thank you, Nicole.” The patient stated. “I should have come to the hospital sooner. My care was what saved my life.”
Thank you, Nicole, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
