My first birth experience was not one I can say was a great experience. My precious bundle ended up having to be taken out through an emergency C-section due to my water breaking during my induction process.

His cord got clamped, making him lose oxygen for some time. He was taken to the NICU for a cooling/warming treatment due to this. To say my new Mom heart was shattered is an understatement.

I didn’t get that first hold or bonding time like I so desperately had been waiting for. This baby was answered prayers as is. My husband and I struggled to get pregnant. The nurses in the NICU were amazing, but nurse Nicole went above and beyond for my family. Her kindness and big heart radiated through her sweet spirit, not just for our family but also for our sweet boy.

She knew the heartache I was harboring and always took that into consideration. She was exceptional at her job and put my baby's needs first, which we greatly appreciated. We never worried when she was in charge of our boy and always hoped she would be our nurse for the day. She wasn’t just our nurse; she was our friend.

Her impact was far greater than she will ever know. I prayed God would give me the best nurses before I gave birth, and he certainly outdid himself when giving us her. She deserves this award a thousand times over, and we hope she knows we love her! She’s the definition of a top-notch nurse, and she belongs in that NICU. Those babies need her. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you did for my baby and family. I’ll never forget it.
