Nicole West, BSN, RN

I am typically a positive person with a high tolerance for pain. However, on that day, no matter what I tried - positioning, medication, my place in bed- nothing helped. Nicole, my angel, was quick to be by my side, watching over me. I had a heart attack four years ago and received four stents. I may not sound healthy, but I am a runner and a small person. At one point, I cried in agony. There was nothing she, nor I, nor anyone else, it seemed, could do to lessen the pain. We all tried classical music, among other things. I want to recognize each of my outstanding nurses for their specific roles in my recovery; although they are all amazing, my little angel Nicole was the shoulder to cry on. What a compassionate, sincere, authentic, and loving nurse she is! We all have days when we just need someone to hold us and say, " I am here; if you need me, I will be right there, " and she was. She hugged me and comforted me. I don't have any family here- just friends. I am telling you, she truly is an angel, not only to me but to all of her patients.
