Nicoya showed such compassion and empathy to a patient who was in a domestic violence relationship. She was able to act swiftly to provide this patient with resources and find a safe house for her. She was then able to produce a DV protocol for our facility. She probably saved this patient's life; the patient was being abused for 40 years.
