We have had several hospital stays recently for various reasons and different hospitals. I can truly say that Shay at BMH DeSoto (Nieshay Garmon) was absolutely the best!! Not only here but out of all the nurses at all the hospitals we have been to lately.
Besides her knowledge of her profession (and it shows through her confidence and capability), Shay treats her patents and family with compassion and respect. To be in a dependent state as a patient in a hospital, like my mother who had to have a partial hip replacement, can be an undignified experience. However, due to the care that Shay provided and her loving ways and attitude, even the most private personal moments were less embarrassing.
Shay is professional and stays on top of her duties. Nothing gets by her without notice. She communicates very well with her patients and family members explaining and answering any questions asked or easing any concerns. She never seems irritable, not matter how many times she is approached about something. I have known Shay for only a short time but I already feel like she is family because that is the high level of caring that she projects to her patients and their loved ones!
