Mrs. Morales-Mendez is truly an exceptional student. She always demonstrates amazing caring behaviors in the clinical setting, as well as with her own students. Every clinical day she takes the time to print out all the required clinical files for each student in the clinical group. Despite her additional responsibilities outside of school with her family and children and work, she is always prepared for clinicals and helps all her students in the clinical groups. Always going above and beyond what I’ve ever seen in any student in clinical. She is always looking to learn, and trying to be challenged so that she can become great and exceptional nurse. She is always helping out and assisting patients, and staff members on the unit. I would like to nominate her for the multiple times that she has done more than expected and gone above and beyond, as well as to help out with staff. At one point, there was a patient in respiratory distress who was confused and combative. A nurse was in distress because the patient was trying to harm the nurse. Nikeysha was quick to jump in and attempt to assist a nurse. Despite the risk that the patient posed to her, she was able to help the nurse and assist during a rapid response. Without her response, the nurse truly would have been harmed. It is her willingness to go above and beyond that makes her an exceptional student and will make her an amazing nurse.
