Nikisha made our stay bearable! She was always a happy face, spent time talking to me (she became the friend I needed), and always advocated for R and what he needed. She made sure that I ate and drank water. She would stay with my son while I left the room because she knew I wouldn't leave if someone wasn't with him. She even brought me DVDs from her own home because she knew how bored I was getting. When my son was in severe pain and screamed for hours and was inconsolable, Nikisha held him and tried to soothe him and got the doctors to do more to control his pain. She gave me the breaks and support I needed to get through some rough times with my son. I couldn't have survived without Nikisha. She went above and beyond her duties as a nurse.

From the very first moment Nikisha began caring for M, I knew we were in good hands. She helped me (mom) to feel calm and heard during some very scary and stressful moments. She made a point to get to know our family and shared with us about hers, which was so lovely as we felt lonely. Thank you!
