An Elderly man was dying of COVID and elected to remove his oxygen. The family had been in the day before and said their goodbyes. Nikki was his nurse. She stayed at his side, explained what was going to happen if he took his oxygen off. He said he understood. She made him comfortable, bent down, talked to him, held his hand, and told him everything was ok. She stayed with him along with the resident and a Med/Surg nurse who was helping. She comforted him as he passed away, showing compassion and allowing him his dignity.
