Nikki was very comforting and helped me calm down when my anxiety was too much. I can’t even describe how quickly she reacted several times during my labor, which made such a difference. She reassured me everything would be okay. During pushing, my son had shoulder dystocia and was stuck. She quickly got on top and helped my provider push him out in less than two minutes. My son is alive and okay because of her quick actions. Nikki made sure I always had everything I needed! She even made me homemade hot chocolate from another unit because my coffee wasn’t the best from the cafeteria. Now that’s a really thoughtful Nurse right there with how busy they are to take time out to do little things for their patients. Nikki took care of me like my mom would.

I chose to have a natural delivery, and that is typically frowned upon by some providers, caregivers, and people in general, but my Labor and Delivery nurse, Nikki, stuck by my side her whole shift as much as she possibly could and helped me navigate my experience with a natural birth. She pushed me to keep going when I felt like giving up, she comforted me when I felt unsure and things got scary during labor, she truly advocated for me and was my biggest support person through my labor. I will always remember her and how she treated me during one of the most terrifying yet most memorable times of my life with the birth of my baby boy!
