I didn’t meet Nikki until towards the end of my stay, but she made a lasting impression on me in that short time. I observed her with other patients a lot during mealtimes. She always went above and beyond to do things for patients to ease their anxieties and fears. Her positive attitude was so contagious at a time when I was very full of fear and getting ready to be released to go home and find a new post-stroke normal. Her smile and laughter stopped my tears several times during the last few days of my stay. Nikki has lots of spirit, makes you feel better being around her, and made my stay pleasant. Moments like this truly highlight what an extraordinary nurse Nikki is.
