My husband and I met Nikki during our admission and stay to bring our first son, M, into this world. Nikki cared for us the night he was born and again on one weekend. Nikki made us feel so comfortable in a situation that felt uncomfortable as we are new parents. I remember specifically having a really hard first night after C-section as M only allowed us to sleep 2-3 hours. When I saw Nikki in the morning, I was relieved! She helped me understand I wasn't doing anything wrong as to why he was so fussy and sat down to provide us teaching.
I learned more from Nikki during our stay than any of my classes I took. She was patient, understanding and taught me as she noticed my struggles. She always remained professional, but I felt as if I was her friend and that she cared about my wellbeing and my son's wellbeing as we transitioned home. We never once felt rushed even though I knew the census was high and she had many things to do. She made sure each time she left the room our questions were answered and provided us a plan of what would be next. I truly believe I will be a better mom to my son with the guidance she provided us and that is something I am so thankful for. Thank you, Nikki, for your extraordinary care, compassion for your job and patients, and positive attitude. Our experience would have been very different without her.
