Nikki Wilson deserves recognition for her outstanding work in the ER. Recently, I was in ER with my dad, and he needed transferred for heart issues. When I arrived at the ER, I found that there were no rooms available in the IU system and that my dad was going to be transferred to New Albany. I spoke with Nikki concerning my dad's extensive heart history and she listened to my concerns of him needing a bigger heart center. I asked if she could make some calls to see if we could find another place for transfer. I felt horrible for asking as the ER was overflowing, and I knew she was very busy. She listened to me and said, let me work on this. I hear your concerns. Nikki worked with her physicians and got my dad a bed in a heart center. My family appreciates the extra work she did to make this happen. That night, ER was extremely busy, and I witnessed her calmness, professionalism, and compassion in treating patients and families. Nikki shows that she deeply cares about her patients and strives to give them the best care possible. She knew what mattered most to us and she made it happen. Nikki followed up with a phone call to tell me when my dad flew out for transfer and said she wished him the best. She took this time because she honestly cares about her patients. I am very glad she works here in our Bedford ER. Lawrence County is lucky to have her. I have been in ER’s several times with my dad over the years and this time stood out to me.
