Nikkisha Haynes, RN

I have worked at Kaiser South Sacramento for over twenty years, and I have never seen such an Extraordinary Nurse as Nikkisha Haynes. There is no nurse more deserving of recognition than ICU nurse Nikkisha. She not only had the difficult assignment of caring for a patient who was on comfort care, but that patient was also a beloved member of our ICU team. Nikki’s professionalism, kindness, and compassion comforted both family members and grieving staff members. She did so with comforting words, warm hugs, and a smile when it was needed most. Multiple family members of the patient thanked Nikki for making this painful situation easier to deal with through her support and kindness. Losing my friend was heartbreaking, but knowing Nikki was there gave me comfort beyond words. She is the definition of what every nurse should strive to be.
