July 2025 Honoree
Nikolas Petersen-Overton, RN
My wife has Alzheimer's, MS, and recently had a UTI and a stroke. Nurse Petersen would enter the room and quietly ask how he could help. He would ask a set of questions followed by requests for physical actions (finger to nose, arms over head). He was lighthearted but consistent and persistent. He would often go to his knees to be at her eye level. He was constantly aware of safety with any movements. He kept track of her different problems and would circle back to confirm that issues had been dealt with. He was simply outstanding. We saw 10 different nurses, and he was exceptional compared to all of them.
Thank you, Nikolas, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
