She is also very fun, compassionate, caring, and the kind of person that just puts you at ease the moment you sit down for treatment.
Nina was my infusion nurse for one chemo session when going through my first round of chemo, and she made a lasting impression on me. Even after that one infusion with her, she would check in on me when I came in and is always so pleasant, kind, and sweet. My regular infusion nurse was not in today when I started my AC chemo, and although I am not an anxious person, I was a bit nervous about having a new infusion nurse for this treatment. When I saw Nina’s face poke through the curtain, I raised my arms in sheer joy and yelled, “Yes, yes!”. I was so incredibly happy and comforted knowing it was her. She is a wealth of knowledge and explains everything so thoroughly and so well, making you feel like you have all the tools you need to get through the next step more easily. I love this about her. She is also very fun, compassionate, caring, and the kind of person that just puts you at ease the moment you sit down for treatment. She makes you feel like you are her only patient and gives you her undivided attention when she’s with you. She is deserving of this award and embodies everything that a patient needs and wants in a nurse.
