Ms. Nina first struck my radar when she was doing rounds and was charge nurse on her shift. When she received word that my son’s A-line was not reading and several nurses had tried to get it working and couldn’t instead of just saying ok let’s move on or ignoring it she simply stated to me “Mom, I’ll be by in a bit to see if I can check it and see what’s going on with it”. I was delighted because most charge nurses do not go above and beyond unless requested! Nina volunteered and was concerned, and it showed. A day later we had the pleasure of having her as his night Nurse!!! Hooray for Nina! She was so attentive, gentle, knowledgeable, and supportive. She also made sure I was okay and took a nap. When I had to leave to go see about my other 2 children and do laundry to come back to bedside, I called to get updates on my son and she was always informative and did it with pleasure. She also called me so that I would not miss the 12 am rounds despite my husband being here. I was so happy with the care she gave my son I was comfortable leaving bedside for the night because of the security she gave me that my son was in amazing hands. That says a lot because I don’t leave my children with anyone other than myself, my husband, or grandma. “We love you, Nina!!! You’re awesome!
